Besides having the best birthday around (12/1/85), Janelle Monae makes pretty good music. Here is some of it...
Make the Bus (featuring Of Montreal): Any song featuring Of Montreal is probably going to be pretty bitching. It tickles my pickle that they have a few songs together and now they are touring together. Lovers fo' sho!

Tightrope: Definitely sounds like an Outkast track (maybe half of that is due to Big Boi being on the song), which is a great thing. Although the track makes me wanna dance, which is very dangerous if you are on a tightrope.

Wondaland ("gotta get back to wondaland, i think me left me underpants" whooooey!) and others:

Super Saturday: Janelle Monae and Silversun Pickups and Chris Garneau
Happy Shlappy! My first review has really made the time tested awesome test... its in my head and i can't help it.
Janelle is beautiful on the inside and has awesome shoes for tightropping. I love that they throw in a little Outkast flavor with Big Boi (and was that Andre 3000 I see walking by circa 4:23?). So whether you're high or low, this song is bound to make you want to get on the tightrope. Solid hook, catchy rhythms, beautiful singing makes a perfect saturday song post.
Another song that I have been happy to have floating around my membranes is by the Silversun Pickups: Substitution.
I didn't realize i had heard this band on the radio already, but it made me yearn for my nostalgic affinity to emo music (Brand New "The Quiet Things No One Ever Knows", Taking Back Sunday "Cute without the "E" (Cut from the Team)", Saves the Day - pretty much the whole "Stay What You Are" album, and more recently the surprising fun snowboarding I had on the slopes with Boys Like Girls - "The Great Escape"). I have included the Silversun's popular tracks for your further enjoyment: Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye by mandysilversunmusic
Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch by mandysilversunmusic (Turns out its a boy singing, who knew?!) Kinda has the Garbage thing going one, riiiiiiight?
And finally, a truly amazing music video that I didn't give the full credit it was due when I first was shown it several months ago... I'm glad its back in my life!
